Humpty Dumpty

Greg is falling apart, but unlike Humpty Dumpty, he has a gracious God, awesome parents, and a wife completely dedicated to taking care of him (its not arrogant if its true...right?..I really do take care of him). Anyway, the sleep apnea test came back showing that he has a moderate case of sleep apnea (they have a little scale with 0-14 being mild or none, 15-30 being moderate, and 30+ being severe, he fell in the 15-25 category). However, we also found out from the throat doctor that he has esophageal spasms, which affect his swallowing, and we are wondering if this might also be affecting his breathing, causing the positive sleep apnea test. We are thankful after trying to figure this out for a couple years to finally know that there is something wrong with him, and it is treatable. Hopefully after all this he won't be so tired all the time, and his immune system will get the boost it needs from better nights of sleep and better ability to digest food. I mean, two of his most basic survival functions (sleeping and eating) are being hindered...no wonder he hasn't felt well! Anyway, today he just texted me to say that on top of this, one of his fillings fell out. I guess this is an easier fix, but it really does make him seem like he's falling apart. So pray for us as we head to the dentist on Monday afternoon, and then to his gastrointestinal specialist directly after. Sigh.

In other news, tomorrow we will be celebrating the marriage of our friends Naomi Barjuca and Caleb Amesbury. We are blessed to be providing some of the music for this celebration! We are blessed to go to a lot of weddings between being wedding musicians as well as having plenty of friends getting married. These joyous occasions are always great reminders of the blessing of our own marriage and God's plan for His people.

I had some exciting opportunities for my little jewelry business in the past month. First of all, I got to team up with a group of South Florida wedding vendors and create 5 inspirational wedding shoots to give Florida brides ideas about their weddings, as well as showcase our work. My jewelry was featured in these shoots done by Jenny Schartner of Captured Photography and Videography (she was my wedding photographer...she is awesome!! Check out her site: www.youreventscaptured.com ). The shoots have since been published on a popular wedding blog Wedding Chicks as well as in a local magazine: The Wellington Magazine. This was all pretty exciting. You can also check out all 5 of the shoots on Jenny's Photography Blog . She is such an awesome photographer!! Also...tell people looking for jewelry for weddings, events, or just everyday wear that I do lots of custom work (I just did the jewelry for my friend Naomi's 9 bridesmaids!! Can't wait to see them wear it tomorrow!!).

Anyway, most importantly...PRAY for GREG...also...tell your friends about my online shop, and also...have a blessed day!!

Sleep Apnea and Reminders

>
Hello world. This blog is coming up on its 1st birthday, and it really doesn't have much to say for itself, but here is a little update on our lives:

Greg has been having symptoms of something which we have not yet pinpointed for about 2 years, and our most recent idea was to see if he could possibly have Sleep Apnea. His mom has it and it is hereditary. Also, some of the symptoms match. Here is a picture of Greg sleeping with the "Apnea Moustache" (as his mom calls it). This little strip monitored his breathing during the night, and then we sent it to a sleep center to be read. Now we just wait and see if we have found the problem or if we can just rule Sleep Apnea out and figure out what else it may be. Anyway, I'll keep you posted (but it may be a while).

Also, I came across this verse a couple mornings ago during my quiet time. It was a reminder I needed:
Isaiah 63:7
"I will make know the Lord's faithful love and the Lord's praiseworthy acts, because of all the Lord has done for us-even the many good things He has done for the house of Israel and has done for them based on His compassions and the abundance of His faithful love."

I am quick to despair when I can't figure out how to solve a problem that we might be having, and I am even quicker to forget the ways in which the Lord has been faithful and compassionate to us over and over again. When I truly stop to think about how He has manifested His love in our lives, I am dumbfounded that I ever doubted Him.

Snuggles and Adventure: Our fuzzy little friends are doing awesome. These two make us laugh so much. Their personalities have only become stronger and it is so much fun having them in our little house. They both suffered a trip to the vet a couple of weeks ago where they were fixed (2 is plenty at the moment), but they have recovered, and Snuggles came home with a blue fuzzy blanket which has continued to hold his adoration even 3 weeks later.

I spent 10 days in Vermont with my family in May and that was a huge blessing. Greg wasn't able to come due to work, but I was able to enjoy some great time with family and Vermont friends; I did miss him horribly though.

We are thoroughly enjoying having the time off from school which allows us to work a little more, and be at home a little more. I've been spending some of my extra time cooking those awesome protein-filled vegetarian meals I had no time for during school. We have also been watching seasons of our favorite show, Stargate.

That's all for now I guess...
